Countermeasure Validation Program
Cryptography Research has developed the DPA Countermeasure Validation Program in response to comments from security experts that many existing evaluation schemes are inadequate at testing for side channel vulnerabilities – particularly Simple Power Analysis (SPA) and Differential Power Analysis (DPA). The DPA Countermeasure Validation Program embraces a comprehensive testing procedure that is designed to ensure consistent, high quality security testing of products against SPA and DPA attacks.
DPA Security Logo
Licensed products which successfully pass independent security tests earn the right to use the trademarked DPA Security Logo. The DPA Security Logo gives customers assurance of two main benefits:
- 1. the device implements effective DPA countermeasures which have been tested and verified by a qualifying independent testing lab, and
- 2. the product has obtained the necessary patent license from Cryptography Research.
Accredited Evaluation Labs
Only the very best evaluation laboratories which have demonstrated outstanding expertise in the area of side channel analysis are accredited by Cryptography Research to perform DPA Countermeasure Validation Program testing. Confidential information relevant to the evaluation is shared only with the testing laboratory and detailed reporting of the results are provided only to the product vendor.
