Two-Day Training, March 13 – 14, 2012: Differential Power Analysis and Suite B

SAN FRANCISCO, California — January 31, 2011 —Cryptography Research, Inc. (CRI) will host a two-day workshop on power analysis and countermeasures on March 13 and 14, 2012, at the Bechtel Conference Center in Reston, Virginia. The prime audience for this workshop includes system developers, architects, and evaluators for anti-tamper (AT) defense applications.

The workshop provides an introduction to timing and power analysis attacks such as simple and differential power analysis (SPA/DPA). Participants will perform hands-on exercises to recover AES and public keys. Live DPA key extraction will be performed on a mobile phone, ECC device, and SASEBO FPGA platform using the DPA Workstation™.

Presenters will examine practical design approaches to counter power analysis threats and review the state of associated U.S. and international security evaluation certifications, such as U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-3 and Common Criteria.

A technical background is recommended.

Seating is limited; registration will close on March 2, 2012 or when capacity is met. Breakfast and lunch are provided.

If you have questions about future workshops, please contact Mark Marson.
